Information

Jim Hurtubise - In Memoriam

"Herk" was a great driver and very popular with the fans. Known mostly for Indy car racing, Jim was comfortable in stock cars and modifieds and was very competitive in everything he drove. His big win in NASCAR came at the Atlanta 500 in 1966.

Jim had the last roadster to race at Indy in 1968, but the Mallard broke only 9 laps into the race. Herk tried as late as 1981 to get the car into the field.
