Mario Rossi Tribute

Mario Rossi Tribute

Latter day NASCAR fans may not immediately recognize the name Mario Rossi or be familiar with his numerous contributions to the sport. But if you've heard of Darrell Waltrip, Donnie and Bobby Allison, Bud Moore, or Joe Weatherly, you already know something of Mario Rossi.

Among other things, Rossi was a key player in NASCAR's famed winged warrior era of the late '60s and early '70s and took on the formidable Bill France in a power struggle that earned him both fame and enmity.

Thank you to all the members who have paid tribute to my Brother Mario Rossi in recent years. Sincerely Virginia (Genny Rossi) DiMarria 3/13/3015

I had such a funny feeling looking at that great picture of  my brother Mario along with his crew and  Bobby. He was a young man at that time. It would be a huge relief of stress at this point in time to really

find out what did happen to him.  His dedication, knowledge and contribution to Auto Racing, and to Nascar, is a Tribute he well deserves.

I had the very good fortune of working with Mario over a three year span, and consider him one of my early mentors. He was attentive to details, open minded and would work as long as it took to get the job done in the right way. I owe him a debt of gratitude for forming my early approach to stock car racing.

Thanks for taking time to start this club for my father. I know not everyone knows about him since he was out of racing in the late 70's. It has been a long time since then. I can't tell you how much I appreciate trying to keep his memory alive and this is just another avenue for that.

I will look for some things to post.

Thanks again,
