A 1/24th die-cast replica of Smokey Yunick's 1957 Corvette. A Maisto convertible was used as a donor and a lot of details were added to make the car very accurate.

One of my favorite race cars of all time was the 1957 Mercury that was driven by Tim Flock in 1957 and 1958. Tim won the big convertible race at Daytona in 1957 and finished 2nd at the 1st annual Rebel 300 at Darlington with the car. This is a Yat-Ming 1/18th die-cast that was converted into the 1958 version of the car at Daytona. Lots of details.

Tom Pistone 1964 Ford Galaxie. A weekend project since it was cold and rainy. Base kit was AMT's 1964 Ford Galaxie kit. Interior tub and base roll cage is by D&T Uniques using Evergreen tubing to update the cage to 1966 specs. Paint is Testors Ford Phonecian yellow and flat white with a Testors Wet look laquer overcoat, Windshield trim was some whith a black Sharpie marker. Evergreen Sheet plastic to fabricate the tail and headlight  fillers. The fillesr were painted with a red Testors paint pen. The Wheels are Performance Plastic products 10" Holman Moody Type wheels painted with Testors  Aluminum metalizer and sealed with Testors dull coat. The tires a Performance Plastic Products 1965-1969 Firestone Gold Ring tires also coated with dullcoat. Exhaust dumps are Evergreen tubing with the inside diameter thinned down with and exacto knife. Decals are from Performance Plastic Products with contingency decals coming from my spare parts box. A fun simple project to while away a rotten weekend.

This is a 1/18th scale die-cast of the Wood Bros. / Tiny Lund 1963 Ford Daytona 500 winner. The detail in this car is amazing !!
